If you’re a custom car enthusiast and you enjoy your fair share of chili, then we have great news for you! Pflugerville is hosting its 11th annual Pfall Chili Pfest and there’s going to be much more than chili at this cook-off event. As a perfect place to showcase your custom truck or other vehicle, the Pfall Chili Pfest serves as both a chili cook-off and a car exhibition. There’s a lot more going on this year, too!
The Pfall Chili Pfest Is Right Around The Corner!
Why Do We Care About The Pfall Chili Pfest?
First of all, despite the typical Texas heat, we love our fair share of chili. Who doesn’t? At least the post-summer heat dies down a little bit in mid-to-late October and we’re able to appreciate some fresh chili just as much as our friends up north. Heat Wave Inc. is also a sponsor for the 2018 Pfall Chili Pfest and we couldn’t be more proud to associate ourselves with such a great local event. Cars, chili, games, music, contests, and community? CHILI AND CARS FOR A GOOD CAUSE
Like any local event that benefits the community, the Pfall Chili Pfest exists not only to serve the Pflugerville community, but also serves Operation Blue Santa as well as the Food Bank of Pflugerville. The goal of Operation Blue Santa is to provide thousands of gifts to families in need in the greater Austin area during the holiday season, and with a simple $10 donation or by donating unused toys or nonperishable food items, you can “register” or enter your very own custom vehicle for a worthwhile cause.
Good food and good vehicles (including motorcycles!) all for a great cause — that’s a huge win in our book!
What’s Going Down At This Year’s Chili Pfest?
THE INFAMOUS JALAPENO EATING CONTEST
If you think you can eat the most jalapenos in under four minutes, then we think that you’re a little bit crazy, but we also respect you. With mysterious prizes and ample bragging rights at stake, this four-minute contest requires participants to eat only one jalapeno in the first minute, and then as many as they can over the following three minutes.
Once the total four minutes are up, contestants are required to wait an additional two minutes with no food or drink. Sure, these aren’t habanero peppers or anything, but we can’t imagine that’s particularly pleasant!

From noon to 3 pm, taste the very best chili that Pflugerville has to offer and vote for your favorite. All it takes is a $5 investment to get a package of ten 2 oz cups and spoons and you’re able to try as much chili as you’d like! Bring it on, fall weather.
